Shake it Up
Is it time to shake things up in your business? Summer is over, Fall is here, and you are probably thinking about the Holiday season. Has your business become too routine? Here are some ideas. Here are 6 simple ways to make changes to your small business that will lead to growth.
1. Delegate
As a small business owner, it’s easy to want to try to do everything yourself. Here’s the hard truth: you can’t do it all. We recommend handing the tasks that lie outside your passions to employees or independent contractors. It will free up your time. And you can focus on what you do best.
2. Learn
Be a life long learner. Don’t stay stuck. With the internet, you have unlimited information at your fingertips! Take a lesson (formally, or on Youtube!) in something you know nothing about (except that it will help grow your business) or dig into a subject you’re already comfortable with but you need to know more and it will support your business.
3. Step Out
It will surprise you how much stepping out of your comfort zone can boost your confidence. Does that seem like an oxymoron? By willingly being uncomfortable, you gain confidence?
Well, by tackling something that challenges you, you’re pushing yourself towards growth. Maybe it’s speaking at an event, maybe it’s joining a community organization, whatever is out of your comfort zone (within reason), give it a try!
4. Take Care of Yo’ Self
You’ve may have read our blog about this before, but when you take care of yourself, there is a trickle-down effect on your business. As a busy small business owner, regular self-care can seem like a luxury. In reality, it’s not a luxury, it’s essential. Don’t overhaul your life overnight, try making small changes. Drink more water, go to bed 30 minutes earlier, spend some time in prayer or meditation, eat more veggies. Your body and mind will thank you.
5. Grow
Focus on your network of business connections by connecting with people you admire and inviting them to meet up in person. Treat them to a cup of coffee and share ideas for a mentorship. Or, join a networking group in your community (they’re out there!) or business organization you’ve never attended before.
6. Organize
Spending your day surrounded by documents in tall piles can make you feel stressed out and overwhelmed. Set aside some time by digitizing documents you need to keep and shredding the rest. In this digital day and age, there’s no need for paper clutter.
